Rum Nation Jamaica 5Yr Old ( 50% abv)

After the eight year old from 2015, a five year old has been chosen as its successor. It is made according to the same process, so distilled in a pot still, finished in oloroso sherry casks after an initial maturation in bourbon casks and bottled at 50%. The quality is perhaps a little higher, because at this younger age the strength of the Jamaica rum comes out even better. It comes from the Worthy Park distillery and first matures in the Caribbean. Then the rum comes to Europe for a finish of 15 to 18 months in second-fill Oloroso sherry barrels and a small proportion of PX sherry barrels.
