High West Cask Strength Bourbon was introduced quietly in late 2023. This cask strength expression from Utah’s High West Distillery is a vatting of straight Bourbon and straight Rye whiskeys, aged in new oak casks for a period of 6 to 10 years. This release is unique due to the additional 10-month finishing in Sauvignon Blanc barrels.
Nose: Stone fruit, vanilla, freshly swathed hay and grass.
Palate: Granny Smith apple, poached pears, flakey fruit cookies, toasted oak spices and a hint of leather.
Finish: Short finish with a hint of fruity sweetness.
