The Deveron 18 Years (40% abv)
$188.90
Weight | 2 kg |
---|---|
Size | 750 mL |
This 18 year old is from the Macduff Distillery, bottled under the name The Deveron. The latter is a reference to the river which empties into the North Sea near the distillery. Founded in 1962 by three local businessmen, George Crawford, Marty Dyke and Brodie Hepburn.
Nose: still floral, malty and slightly metallic, like the 12 year, but with greater depth of oak; crushed almonds and peanuts; freshly picked berries and more white fruits. 40%
Palate: creamy, honeyed and toasting with building Demerara sugars and spice; there is a big hit of cooked apple with brown sugar and traces of the coppery note found on the nose; jammy berry fruits and poached pear emerge with a little citrus.
Finish: medium, drying and malty with spices and white fruits.
