Car Mor Stricty Limited Williamson 2013 (8Yr) 47.5%

Quite possibly the industry’s worst-kept secret, Williamson is very obviously named for Bessie Williamson, the first female distillery manager (and eventually owner!), who oversaw the Laphroaig distillery from 1954 ’til 1972. There’s a very persistent tale, however, that Bessie was largely running show years before it became official. And while it was never really a guessing game, it’s nice to see we can now mention on the labels that the malt was, in fact, distilled at Laphroaig.
